Fairhaven Lake Model Boat Club

Who are we;

Fairhaven Lake Model Boat Club (formerly Blackpool & Fylde model boat club ) are a group of like minded enthusiastic individuals that build, sail , buy and sell all things related to model boats.

We have been granted a licence to operate sail and electric model boats on Fairhaven Lake by Fylde Borough Council and are also affiliated to the Model Yachting Association (MYA).

At the Northern end of Fairhaven Lake there is a quiet corner which was originally a swimming pool and is reserved for operating mainly scale model boats.

The active scale model section attends shows often by invitation across the North West supporting charity fund raising events for the Life Boat service and others.

Weather permitting, you will find members enjoying scale boat and sailing sessions from 18:00 until sunset generally on Tuesday,Thursday and Sunday evenings weather permitting, and have recently added a Wednesday afternoon form 14:00 onwards to the official days. Although during the more clement months you can often find us active at the lake most days.

Their is plenty of paid parking within easy reach of the lake, and it is free after 18:00), Disabled spaces are available. 24 Hr Parking is free on both sides of the adjacent road "Inner Promenade" there are also electric charging points available.

The club have use of the newly re-furbished park building positioned next to the lake complete with high quality kitchen and other facilities. The building is used to hold our regular club meeting held the 2nd Wednesday of each month.

We also have exclusive use of a secured container in the compound to store and maintain boats and yachts and other related items which is accessible at all times to members for a nominal fee.

Membership for 2022 remains at £10 per annum and includes insurance
